Biogas produced
Like many cities in China, Nanjing is struggling with ever-increasing volumes of waste from a steadily growing urban population. With landfill sites increasingly full and encountering problems with acceptance, there’s a growing need for sustainable technologies. Alongside thermal energy recovery, these also include the biological fermentation of organic waste. This trend is receiving a boost from new legislation requiring the recycling and recovery of energy from restaurant and household kitchen waste. The delivery of two PF1800 Kompogas®steel digesters for Nanjing’s new waste park marked Kanadevia Inova’s entry into the Chinese market. The Kompogas®dry fermentation system is used to convert organic household waste into biogas, which is then used to generate electricity.
