The KVA Thun WtE plant treats 100,000 tonnes of combustible waste a year from 300,000 people in 150 municipalities. The town on Lake Thun is the economic centre of this part of Canton Bern and well known for its ski resorts and picturesque landscapes. The WtE covers around one third of the town’s electricity requirements as well as supplying district heat for adjacent public facilities.
