Kanadevia Inova successfully closes strategic O&M acquisition at Dublin Waste to Energy Facility

Zurich, Switzerland – Kanadevia Inova, a global leader in solutions for the energy transition and circular economy, announces financial close on an acquisition to transfer the operations and maintenance team at the Dublin Waste to Energy facility into the Kanadevia Inova fold.
Kanadevia Inova announced the agreement to purchase Encyclis Ireland Operations, pending regulatory and stakeholder approvals, last year.
With clearance now received, around 60 highly specialised employees at the Dublin plant have officially joined Kanadevia Inova’s 3,500-strong global workforce. A comprehensive handover plan will ensure the team’s highperformance standards are upheld.
As of closing, the Swiss-based green-tech company officially takes over the 38-year O&M contract from Encyclis, a deal that also paves the way for an increase in the facility’s waste throughput capacity by 15% to 690,000 tonnes per year.

This transaction illustrates Kanadevia Inova’s unique capability to increase asset value for owners and investors by assuming O&M guarantees while offering engineered upgrades.
The Dublin plant generates enough electricity to power 115,000 homes and is set to provide district heating for up to 50,000 households. With the capacity upgrade, these numbers are set to climb further.
In an illustration of volumes that will be processed after the upgrade, the amount of waste diverted from landfill each year by the Dublin Waste to Energy facility could fill close to 1,000 Olympic swimming pools, even when compacted.
The Dublin Waste to Energy Facility, located on the Poolbeg peninsula, came online in 2017 to serve the Greater Dublin Area. Kanadevia Inova, then operating under its previous name, was the plant’s principal contractor for design, build and commissioning.
