It is about helping one of Africa’s great cities move beyond its dependence on landfill. It is about generating enough electricity to power nearly 1 million homes. It is about land preservation, water protection, cleaner air, lower carbon emissions and energy resilience. But Casablanca matters beyond one concession agreement. What was demonstrated is that advanced Waste-to-X infrastructure can be made affordable. That changes the conversation. The Casablanca concession was won within a public landfill tender. This is the first time globally that a Waste-to-X solution has prevailed in such a context. It was not won on political grounds. It was won on price, with a gate fee substantially below the competing offer.
This level of affordability – combined with a new appreciation for energy resilience and resource security – is what will drive our industry in coming years

Casablanca is a breakthrough for our industry.
It was achieved through a blend of technological, contractual and financial innovation. But it was also achieved through our integrated business model. This was not a simple equipment supply. It required us to combine proven technology, EPC execution enhancing local workmanship, long-term operational know-how, financing structuring, partnership, risk allocation and public-sector trust into one solution.
We have shown that advanced Waste-to-X can reach a price point accessible to municipalities serving a billion more people.
One billion more.
And when a company can make this possible, it has a duty to keep innovating. A duty to make the technology accessible without compromising quality and the infrastructure lifetime. A duty to support cities that need better solutions than landfill, but cannot afford infrastructure designed only for the wealthiest markets.
