Pianfei Biomethane, IT

The Pianfei biogas plant has officially reached commercial operation (COD) in September 2025.

Pianfei is one of the first biomethane plants to operate under the Ministerial Decree 2022 by the Italian Ministry for the Ecological Transition which aims to support the production of biomethane. The plant will benefit from a 15-year feed-in-premium tariff starting from COD and has received full recognition of the Capex Grant requested from the GSE – the Italian agency responsible for promoting energy efficiency and renewable sources.

Kanadevia Inova designed, built, and operates the Pianfei plant under a BOO (Build, Own, and Operate) model. It is the first plant fully owned and operated by Kanadevia Inova in this region for biomethane grid feed-in. The design and construction were managed by Kanadevia Inova Schmack, while the biogas upgrading technology using membranes was developed by Kanadevia Inova BioMethan in Zeven. The plant will be operated and serviced by Kanadevia Inova Schmack Biogas Italy.
