Advantages

This is not just a robot—it’s a leap forward in autonomous industrial operations. Pulse Patrol is the future of smart inspection, tailored to the unique challenges of the Waste to Energy industry.

Deployed to about 100 customers in various industries, like oil & gas, chemical, mining, power & utilities, or transport. Since mid-2025, deployed at a Waste to Energy plant. Facilities using Pulse Patrol report:

  • Reduced downtime through early fault detection: -1.5% downtime demonstrated in a chemical plant.

  • Enhanced worker safety by minimising manual inspections in hazardous areas.

  • Improved data quality and digital inspection reports for predictive maintenance.

  • Seamless integration with existing asset management systems, including our customer portal Pulse 360 and various CMMS systems.

Robot inspection services for Waste to Energy plants, leading the way in innovative autonomous inspections with years of experience in Waste to Energy applications.

Use case: Detection of ash blockage in a downcomer

The challenge

Blockages in the downcomer can cause ash buildup, leading to performance loss and potentially forcing a plant shutdown. Traditionally, detection relies on switches or manual inspection with a heat gun.

The solution

Pulse Patrol uses thermal imaging to continuously monitor the temperature across the downcomer and yield early detection of blockages. It allows the operator to intervene before the ash builds up in the hopper.

Tangible results

  • Time saved
Daily inspection time and time for unblocking—downcomer: up to 2 hours; hopper: up to 8 hours.

  • Safety
Fewer hazardous manual interventions and a decrease in recorded injuries.

  • Cost
Avoids unplanned downtime and catastrophic failures.

  • Maintenance
If a blockage is confirmed, targeted cleaning is scheduled—often without stopping the plant.

  • Schedule
If escalation is needed, intervention is planned proactively, minimising risk and downtime.

“Pulse Patrol gives us data in a completely different format than before”

“We can collect and visually retrace history of components to watch changes in process or equipment and trend data which before was not possible. The Robot also allows diagnosis support and the ability to check plant remotely which enables us to assist operators and maintenance staff from off site.”

His feedback summarises what many operators experience: Pulse Patrol provides new visibility, strengthens decision‑making, and reduces the dependency on manual inspections.

Data Monitoring on our customer portal Pulse 360

Pulse Patrol turns traditional inspection rounds into a streamlined and fully standardised digital monitoring system. It continuously captures high‑value data—including thermal images, acoustic signatures, vibration patterns, gauge readings, gas presence and visual observations—and processes it through AI models trained on extensive real‑plant datasets to detect anomalies early and reliably.

All inspection data is securely transferred to Pulse 360, where it is merged with DCS information to provide deeper operational context and clearer prioritisation of issues. Thanks to its intuitive, user‑friendly interface, operators can easily navigate the platform, quickly locate the insights they need and maintain a clear overview of asset health.

By highlighting trends and degradation patterns, Pulse Patrol supports predictive maintenance strategies that help anticipate failures, prepare spare parts needs and minimise unplanned downtime. With Pulse 360 as a unified digital hub, teams benefit from a simple, coherent environment that replaces fragmented tools while strengthening reliability, performance and plant safety.
