Introduction
Wet bottom ash discharge systems safely remove, cool, and convey bottom ash using water quenching. Cooling and effective sealing against false air support stable combustion conditions and reliable plant operation. Kanadevia Inova provides both ram-type and apron-type extraction systems.
Extraction systems
Ram-type wet-bottom ash extractor
A hydraulically driven ram intermittently discharges quenched ash from a water-filled hopper. This compact, mechanically straightforward design provides effective cooling and reliable furnace sealing and is highly tolerant of coarse ash. Bottom ash is discharged with an approximate water content of 15%, suitable for conventional downstream IBA treatment.
Apron-type wet-bottom ash extractor
Bottom ash is continuously discharged into a water-filled quench bath beneath the furnace grate. A robust steel apron conveyor slowly transports the quenched, dust-free ash out of the bath while excess water drains back into the system. This configuration ensures effective cooling, reliable false air sealing, and stable operations.
